Who’s Hiding?

Who’s Hiding? by Satoru Onishi is a multi- award winning book for babies and toddlers. Sharp-eyed youngsters will have fun with this search-and-find picture book. Eighteen simply drawn, brightly colored animals are laid out in the same order on each spread. A rear view is laid out on the endpapers. The first spread shows the creatures and their names and asks, Who is hiding? The next spread shows all of them except for the reindeer who is invisible except for his antlers. This question alternates with others, with sometimes one figure disappearing and other times with more than one change occurring. The next question is, Who’s crying? It’s the rabbit who is frowning and shedding a tear. Who’s angry? is not quite as clear cut, but is identified in the answer key as the scowling blue bear.

Half of an Elephant by Gusti is an award winning book published by Kane Miller. This 40 page book is perfect for children between the ages of 5 years old and 9 years old that has earned the Parenting Magazine Best Books of the Year. This is an interesting story for children to read. The illustrations are unique. One night, all of a sudden, the world split in two. Faced with this unexpected event – and with half of his considerable body missing – an elephant began a journey to find his missing half. Since there was only half of him, he was referred to as ‘half of an elephant’.

No! That’s Wrong!

No! That’s Wrong! is a very cute children book with lots of interesting illustrations. The book is great for children between the ages of three and five years old. The book is about a little rabbit and his newly found hat. But, it is not a hat. It is actually red underpants which he and his friends thought was a hat. All the animals tried this hat on. Some thought it was a terrific hat whereas others thought it was too loose or tight. Eventually, a donkey convinced the rabbit that they were underpants, not a hat. So, the rabbit tried them on as underpants but his tail did not fit.
