Andy And Sam: Hide And Seek
July 14th, 2010Andy and Sam: Hide and Seek by Liesbet Slegers is a very cute book that is perfect for toddlers ages 2 years and up. This book is published by Kane Miller, a Division of EDC Publishing which also owns Usborne Books. The book measures 9 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches and has 32 pages.
Andy and Sam: Hide and Seek is a seek and find picture book, full of richly colored, age-appropriate detail. Farm animals, zoo animals, animals at the seaside and animals in the woods, they're all in here and there's an answer key on the back!

March 30th, 2010Dragon in the Cupboard is a great book in the Usborne Young Puzzle Adventures series of books. It is written by Karen Dolby and illustrated by Caroline Church. There are 32 pages full of great illustration and fun puzzles. Other titles in this series are Chocolate Island, Lucy and the Sea Monster, Molly's Magic Carpet, Spooks' Surprise and Wendy the Witch. There are many other Usborne Puzzle Adventures books. Some of them are out of print, though.
Each story in this charmingly illustrated series has picture puzzles threaded through it, which will involve the reader in the action and add to their pleasure. Younger children can share these books with adults, more confident readers can enjoy them on their own. Either way they will capture the imagination of all. The dragon is very cute. If you get stuck solving puzzles, the answers are at the back of the book.
Story of Dragon in the Cupboard
The story starts with George and Lottie. They were hungry so they went to the kitchen for some food. Little did they know, there was a green, cute dragon in the cupboard and he was eating their food! For a dragon, this little guy was pretty small. He was lost. George and Lottie then learned about their new friend's story of how he came to be in their cupboard. But the dragon did not remember anything since he bumped his head. You can see in the illustration, a little red bump on his head. He did not even know his name! With George's and Lottie's help, he found a badge with his name. His name was Dan, the Dragon. The whole book is about helping Dan the Dragon find his way home. George, Lottie and Granny Wendy went on so many great adventures with Dan and they eventually got him home safely. Dan was with his family once more.
