Who’s Hiding?

Who’s Hiding? by Satoru Onishi is a multi- award winning book for babies and toddlers. Sharp-eyed youngsters will have fun with this search-and-find picture book. Eighteen simply drawn, brightly colored animals are laid out in the same order on each spread. A rear view is laid out on the endpapers. The first spread shows the creatures and their names and asks, Who is hiding? The next spread shows all of them except for the reindeer who is invisible except for his antlers. This question alternates with others, with sometimes one figure disappearing and other times with more than one change occurring. The next question is, Who’s crying? It’s the rabbit who is frowning and shedding a tear. Who’s angry? is not quite as clear cut, but is identified in the answer key as the scowling blue bear.

This book with strange title by Colin Thompson has attracted lots of kids all over the world to read it. This book is called The Big Little Book of Happy Sadness and it has earned many awards. The book measures10.25 x 9.25 inches, has 32 pages and it is an excellent read for children between ages 5 and 9 years old. The Big Little Book of Happy Sadness is about a little boy called George who lived with his grandmother. Although his grandmother was a very nice lady, George felt very lonely most of the time. He was a very lonely boy who always stood in the corner where no one was looking and hid his face. But, one day, he decided to adopt a dog, Jeremy, from a shelter. Jeremy was a dog that no one wanted since he only had three legs.

This book, Dougal the Garbage Dump Bear, is great for children ages 4-6 or for grade 1-2. The book measures 11.5 x 8.5 inches and has 40 pages. Dougal the Garbage Dump Bear has earned many awards. It is one of the best children’s books around. It teaches good lessons and has a very happy ending. This book tells the story of a shy little bear with a heart of gold named Dougal. He was an old and dirty bear and was treated as such. Since Dougle was old and dirty, the father of the girl who owned him put him in the stinky garbage bin. Dougal, along with other rubbish was going to be demolished but one of the men took saved him and many other stuffed animals.
