October 2nd, 2009The Usborne Book of Hair Braiding is great for children ages between 8 years old and 12 years old. It has 32 pages full of ideas of what to do with long or short hair. Whether your hair is long, short, straight or curly, this book is full of imaginative ideas for plaiting and braiding. The reader will discover that impressive styles such as a French or ribbon plait are not nearly as hard to do as they look. Simple step-by-step instructions ensure convincing and satisfying results. The Usborne Book of Hair Braiding also comes in kid kit which comes with the book as well as lots of different hair twists, shiny hair rings, hair clasps, sparkle pony star hair rings, tangle-free hair bands, and one comb.
What you will find in the Usborne Book of Hair Braiding
Bear in mind that some of the braids are basic braids that you may be already familiar with. The book also contains tips on how to do each type of braid. There are lots of pictures to illustrate how to braid each style. This is a great book to learn how to braid. You will find in this book:
- Simple braids
- Hippie braids (wind thread in different patterns around thin strands of hair)
- Topknot and knotted bunches
- Cords and ribbons (braid cords or ribbons through hair)
- Princess styles
- Crossover braids (braid on the right and left and then cross them over)

- Fishtail braids (most interesting, different kind of braid, use two hair sections, intricate looking)
- Accessories (list of hair cords, bands, pins, clips, etc that you might need)
